Columbus Pools Begin to Open May 24

Summer is just around the corner, and that means pool season is officially here! Columbus Recreation and Parks Department is excited to announce the opening schedule for City pools, with select locations opening Saturday, May 24 and all pools open for the season by Saturday, June 7.

The following pools will be open May 24–26 and May 31–June 1:

  • Dodge Pool: 645 Sullivant Ave., 43215
  • Driving Park Pool: 1100 Rhoads Ave., 43206
  • Glenwood Pool: 1888 Fairmont Ave., 43223
  • Tuttle Pool: 240 W. Oakland Ave., 43201

All City pools are open daily beginning on June 7. Note: These pools are closed on city holidays.

  • Lincoln Pool: 570 Woodrow Ave., 43207
  • Marion Franklin Pool: 2699 Lockbourne Road, 43207
  • Maryland Pool: 1380 Atcheson St., 43203
  • Windsor Pool: 1300 Windsor Ave., 43211

Pools are open Monday–Friday: 1–7 p.m., Saturday–Sunday: 12–6 p.m. Admission is just $1 and now easier than ever—new this summer, only credit/debit cards and tap-to-pay methods are accepted (no cash). Visitors can also pre-load admissions to their Leisure Card at the Columbus Aquatics Center or any community center.

“Our pools are more than just places to cool off—they’re places where families connect, kids gain confidence and communities come together,” said Bernita A. Reese, M.S., CPRP, director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. “We’re proud to offer safe, affordable access to swimming and summer fun for all Columbus residents.”

Here are some tips to help residents prepare for the summer pool season:

  • Grab your swimsuit. Proper swimwear is required for entry.
  • Sign up for swim lessons to build confidence in the water. The department offers swim lessons for residents of all ages. Lessons are only $15 per session and scholarships are available.
  • Make sure you have a Leisure Card. Free Leisure Cards are required for admission; get a Leisure Card at any community center.
