The Ohio History Connection will celebrate the Halloween season with Fright at the Museum on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Ohio History Center, 800 E. 17th Ave.
Guests will discover the spooky side of Ohio’s history as they learn about creatures of the night alongside the Ohio Wildlife Center, make apple cider the old-fashioned way, test their acting chops with vintage horror movie reels, and step back in time with a midcentury Monster Mash at the 1950s-era Lustron Home inside the museum.
Visitors also will explore the origins of American Halloween celebrations through time, weave a web of spooky stories with time travelling tales and create hands-on activities and crafts before ending the night with a dance party on the museum’s Red Carpet.
“Halloween is the perfect opportunity to discover some of Ohio’s mysterious and curious history,” said Neil Thompson, Manager of Media and Public Relations for the Ohio History Connection. “Families with young children will especially enjoy being at the Ohio History Center and experiencing the interactive and educational programming we have in store.”
Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. For the safety of all guests, adults are not permitted to wear costume masks, and no props are to be the shape of weapons.
Admission is as follows: $18/adult ($13/member adult); $14/child ages 4-12 ($9/member child); free/ages 3 and under; Free/Ohio History Connection premium member. Timed tickets may be purchased at ohiohistory.org/events/fright-at-the-museum.
